Body
Item Summary:
Invitation to Bid #09-363C was issued and 4 bids were received ranging from $69,960 to $90,900. Lakeshore Engineering, LLC was the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $69,960.

Replacement of the current system is necessary due to the unavailability of spare parts and the obsolescence of its electronic components. The sludge collection system is used in the sedimentation process. The purpose of the system is to remove settled solids from the bottom of the sedimentation basins to utilize the full capacity of the water treatment process. The collection system moves on a rail track and collects sludge to be sent to the decant holding tanks and from there it is pumped to the sludge lagoons for processing.

Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On February 2, 2010 the Public Safety and Public Works Committee recommended placing this item on the February 17, 2010 Mayor and Council Agenda.

Financial Impact:
$69,960 is currently approved and available for this project in the Water Fund, Cost Center 440B, Account 542100 and Project #10ENV010.
