Item Summary:

The Gas South Municipal Affinity Program is a nonexclusive program in existence to provide cost-effective and competitive natural gas rates through coordinated efforts between the City of Roswell and Gas South.  The Affinity Program provides a $.02 per therm discount off of the standard residential rate plans offered by Gas South to new and existing Gas South customers.  The City will receive Affinity program revenue based on customer participation.   

Committee or Staff Recommendation:

On April 12, 2011 the Administration and Finance and Recreation and Parks Committee recommended placing this item on April 25, 2011 Mayor and Council Agenda.

Financial Impact:

While this presents the City with a new source of revenue, the anticipated amount is dependent upon participation in the Affinity program.  The revenue associated with this program will be analyzed as part of the FY 2012 budget process.
