Approval of the Transportation Master Plan Update.

Body
Item Summary:
The purpose of the Transportation Master Plan is to lay the foundation for the implementation of a transportation program for the City. The Mayor and City Council adopted the City's first Transportation Master Plan in late 2006. The Plan included several high-level concepts and provided broad suggestions as to where and how the City should invest its transportation dollars. This update to the Master Plan takes the framework of the original Master Plan and builds in a needs assessment. This provides justification for investments in transportation identified in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As part of this update, a total of six public meetings were held throughout the City with the feedback incorporated into the final document.
While this has been a minor update to the Transportation Master Plan, it should remain relevant for the next several years. The next major update to the Transportation Master Plan will be required when the City makes major revisions to the City's Comprehensive Plan in 2015.
