The U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, has awarded the City of Roswell a grant to fund the purchase of ballistic vests for law enforcement officers. An officer's body armor is replaced at least once every five years. The award will be for funding the purchase of $18,000 in eligible vests. The City is required to provide a 50% match of actual purchase up to $9,000. The required grant match will be funded from the Police Department operating budget.

Financial Impact:
Budget Amendment 3223G6-10-25-10 will transfer the required match from the general fund to the grant fund and set up the total budget for this grant project in the amount of $18,000 in the grant fund.
