Body
Item Summary:
Invitation to Bid #11-083-B was issued and 20 bids were received with costs ranging from $187,651.50 to $480,621.38. CP Richards Construction was the lowest, responsive responsible bidder in the amount of $187,651.50.
The construction limits for this project are from Alpharetta St. (SR 9) to Bush Street for a total length of 570 feet. The construction consists of adding a five-foot brick sidewalk on the north side and a ten-foot multi-use trail on the south side. A reconstructed Oak Street will include new two-foot wide curb and gutter sections on both sides of the street along with a new overlay of asphalt. A four-foot landscaping strip will be added behind the curb and new decorative pedestrian lighting will be spaced along both sides of the street. In addition, there is a net reduction in the number of wooden utility poles and the new ones are taller to allow more vegetation at street level. All of the non-electrified (lower) utility lines will be buried as part of this streetscape.
