Staff Report:
Background
The applicant is requesting to construct a new building and site plan. The original building on this site was damaged in a fire.
Site Plan Analysis
The site plans shows the location of the new 2800 square foot building. There will be 19 parking spaces and some storage units on the site.
Landscape Plan Analysis
The landscape plan shows the addition of Trident Maple, Japanese Cryptomeria, Crape Myrtle, Stevens Holly, Japanese Maple and Deodar Cedar as well as other shrubs and ground coverings.
Elevations
The building will be brown metal with a sloped roof to facilitate rain capture in a cistern. The north elevation shows a second story entrance, accessed by a metal stair case. The south elevation shows a large bay door with another entrance door and windows. The east elevation shows an entrance door at the center between two windows with an awning overhead; there are additional second story windows.
Applicant will bring color board and material samples to the meeting.
Design Guidelines
The site is regulated by the city wide design guidelines.
Recommended Conditions
Staff recommends that this applicant be approved.
