Item Summary:
This grant will provide funding to purchase one Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) system for use on one City of Roswell Police patrol car.  The ALPR is a mobile computer and infrared camera system that scans every license plate in every direction of the police car and runs them through updated criminal databases. It can scan 1,500 license plates in a minute. When it finds a match, it immediately alerts the officer.
