Item Summary:
Invitation to Bid #10-092C was issued and seven (7) bids were received ranging from $21,865 to $61,313.90. This project is for the fabrication and installation of three pedestrian kiosks in the Historic District. The low bidder was initially eliminated due to inability to obtain the required bond. Henry Inc. was identified as the next responsible, responsive bidder.
The agenda item requesting approval for the Mayor and/or City Administrator to sign a contract with Henry Inc. for the Pedestrian Kiosk Sign Project in the amount of $40,675 was deferred from the July 26, 2010 Mayor and Council meeting to committee. On July 28, 2010, the committee decided to stay with the original low bidder and wait for them to be able to start. Because the original bid expired, they have had to increase their bid, and the base contract amount is now $26,500, which exceeds the $25,000 purchasing threshold, thus requiring Mayor and City Council approval.
