Item Summary:
The proposed text amendment will allow for 15% of the parking required to be compact parking. The proposed compact parking space size is to be 8.5' x 16'. The current standard parking space size is 9' x 20' or 10' x 18'. The text amendment will reduce the standard parking space size to 9' x 18'.
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
The Mayor and City Council approved the first reading of this ordinance during their September 12, 2011 hearing.
The Planning Commission recommended approval of the ordinance during their August 16, 2011 hearing.
The Community Development Department recommends approval of the second reading of this ordinance.
