Title
Consideration of the use of City Hall Facility for a September 12, 2009 Event.
Body
Item Summary:
The North Fulton and Friends Tea Party submitted a Facility Use Application for a "Tea Party" event to be held on the grounds of City Hall on Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  This included a request to have City Hall open for restroom facilities from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  This is not a City sponsored event and is outside the policy for the use of City Hall (excluding City Hall grounds) to outside entities.  The Mayor requested that City Hall be opened to allow the public to use the restrooms and water fountains and agreed to personally compensate the City for the expenses incurred in opening City Hall on September 12.

Committee or Staff Recommendation:
The City Administrator does not have the authority to open City Hall for a non sanctioned or non sponsored event that is outside the governance of the Use of City Hall policy.

Financial Impact:
The approximate cost to open City Hall from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. is $412 based on an estimated maximum number of attendees of 1,000.
