Description:

As part of the FY 2011 Budget development, staff learned there was a small amount of Impact Fee funds earmarked for Transportation that is still available. At the same time, staff learned funds are available in the General Fund due to a reallocation of Impact Fees to the General Fund. The reallocation is a result of expenditures charged to the General Fund that were Impact Fee eligible. As a result, staff identified several projects in the Department's Work Program and the Transportation Master Plan that could to be moved forward with funds from these two sources.

The staff wishes to make the following modifications and additions to the Transportation Department Work Program: allocate General Fund funds in the amount of $710,000 resulting in the utilization of reclassified funds. Using the $710,000 of freed-up General Fund, staff wishes to program the following projects:

• Add an additional $100,000 of funds to the Sun Valley-Warsaw Connector project. (New total: $400,000)

• Add new project - Riverwalk Connection construction- $120,000

• Add new project - Leita Thompson Deceleration Lane construction - $100,000

• Add new project - Riverside Road Erosion Control and Sidewalk Connection (west of Old Riverside Road) - $100,000

• Add new project - SR 9 at SR 120 Intersection Improvement construction - $200,000

• Add new project - SR 120 West multi-use trail from Willeo Road to Coleman Road construction - $60,000. (Match for Federal HPP funds of $240,000 making total project cost $300,000)

• Add new project - Bicycle Education program - $10,000

• Add remaining $20,000 to existing sidewalk connectivity program

Total new and expanded projects: $710,000
