Description:
During the June 14, 2011 Committee meeting there was discussion regarding the renovation of the old machine shop into a special events facility in conjunction with a proposed project to design and construct restroom facilities at Old Mill Park. The discussion included the feasibility of the old machine ship being utilized as a pavilion with lighting, ceiling fans, and a wet bar. There was concern regarding the cost to extend water and sewer services to the old machine shop, the need to retain the historic nature of the building and site, and the question of archeological content on the property. Staff was requested to present this concept to the Historic Preservation Commission for their review and comments.
