Approval to revise the City of Roswell Neighborhood Traffic Calming Policy.

Transportation

Body

Item Summary:

The goal of the policy revisions is to make the process efficient, simple and clear. The last revision to the policy was August 3, 2009.

The changes are as follows:

1.                     Name of the policy changed from “Traffic Calming Program” to “Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program”. The policy now applies only to local roads.

2.                     The policy revisions clarify the intent and goals of the City.

3.                     The policy no longer requires that certified letters be mailed to non-respondents to the petition. Instead an affidavit stating that the petition form was mailed to every affected property owner will be acceptable.  The number of non-respondents will be excluded from the total when calculating the petition percentage.

4.                     A Sample petition form is no longer a part of the policy.  A specific form will be created for each application with specific information about that application.
