Body

Item Summary:

Applicant is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness for the renovation to the property.

Staff Report:

The applicant’s exterior modifications comprise mainly of a new portico structure, widened main entryway, and new landscaping and hardscape elements throughout the front yard.

There will be some changes to the site as shown on the site plan sheet L-2.  The parking and driveway on the western side of the property are being removed. The existing walkway from the saw cut to the door is to be removed, and a proposed dumpster pad is to be located on the southeastern portion of the property screened with a 6’ privacy fence.  The applicant is proposing to add new lamp posts in several locations on the property.  Also proposed are new orchard stone patios located on the western side of the property.  Black metal standard barrier fencing is proposed along the Northern property line along Plum Street.  This barrier is to shield their restaurant outdoor patio area from the street.  The structure located to the rear of the restaurant will be removed.

The landscaping plan on sheet L-6 indicates the new patios, lighting and plantings to be added to the site.  The arborist has reviewed the landscape plan.
