Item Summary:
Over the past two years, the Police Department has funded $54,000 per year from the Confiscated Assets Fund to purchase rifles for all police officers. Due to a vendor shipping error, the CIty has the opportunity to purchase the rest of the needed rifles now in lieu of waiting until FY 2013.

On March 13, 2012 the Administration and Finance and Recreation and Parks Committee recommended placing this Item on the March 26, 2012 Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
Funding for this project will come from the Confiscated Assets Fund, fund balance. Upon approval of this action, $54,000 will be available in Org 35032500, Account #542100, Project #75002. This action would leave an unaudited fund balance of approximately $344,164.
