Item Summary:
This is a request from the Willow Springs Home Owners Association (HOA) to abandon the City of Roswell portion of the Old Turner Road bed. This includes an area that is 642' long x 30' wide or about 19,260 SF that is the western 1/2 of the right of way. The boundary is set as the centerline of the road. This right of way is adjacent to the Willow Springs Community Park and is requested for passive park purposes. It is heavily overgrown and there are no plans to reestablish the roadway.
The other half of the centerline of the road bed lies within the City of Alpharetta. They also have no plans to reestablish the roadway and have provided written confirmation that there are no objections to abandoning the Roswell half.

On December 19, 2012 the Community Development and Transportation Committee recommended placing this Item on the January 14, 2013 Mayor and Council Agenda.
