Item Summary:

Invitation to Bid #11-278-B was issued and 10 bids were received ranging from $376,146.46 to $569,251.93. The bids incorporate two projects.  The SR 9/SR 120 Intersection Improvements and the MARTA Sidewalk Batch 2B project were combined as one bid package in order to get a lower total cost for both projects.

The lowest total bid received was from Johnson Landscapes.  The SR9 at SR120 Intersection Improvements bid was $240,795.52 and the MARTA Sidewalks bid was $181,004.30.  The scope of the intersection improvements at SR9 and SR120 consist of a mountable truck apron on the northwest corner, two new pedestrian islands, additional curb and gutter, brick paver sidewalks, crosswalk improvements, milling and overlay for the entire intersection and new mast arms for the traffic signal.  The MARTA sidewalk project scope consists of a brick sidewalk along SR120, SR9, Mill Street and Mimosa Boulevard.  The project also consists of new 'bulb-outs' to shorten the pedestrian crossing distance and calm traffic and eight new on-street parking spaces along the west side of Mimosa Boulevard.
