Approval to submit the recommended allocations for the 2014 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.
Presented by Michael Fischer, Deputy City Administrator
Body
Item Summary:
After a four-week application process for the Program Year (PY) 2014 CDBG funds, received annually from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the City had received 13 proposals in the amount of $953,178. Using prior year award amounts, the available 2014 CDBG funding is estimated to be $417,613.
The applications were assessed for eligibility and participating Mayor and Council provided final reviews and recommendations. Those recommendations were collected from the ZoomGrants service and staff averaged those allocations following the reviewing process that was utilized for the 2012 and 2013 CDBG programs. The allocations need to be approved for the City's 2014 Annual Action Plan which is due to HUD by November 15, 2013 and will require a 30-day public review period.
