Item Summary:
Invitation to Bid #12-033-C was issued and seven bids were received for a new backhoe/loader model#2012 JCB 3CX ranging from $70,925 to $100,367. JCB was the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $70,925.
The new backhoe will replace the 11 year old skid steer loader (Bobcat) currently used to run the asphalt zipper. The Backhoe/Loader has more performance power and will provide a better platform for the zipper thus improving crew efficiency.

On March 28, 2012 the Community Development and Transportation Committee recommended placing this Item on the April 9, 2012 Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
Funds in the amount of $88,410 are currently available in the Motor Grader Replacement Account, Org 35042101, Object 542100, Project 95010. Upon approval $17,485 will be remaining.
