Item Summary:
Twelve (12) organizers submitted sponsorship applications for 16 events being held between January and June of 2014.  The following thirteen (13) events meet the sponsorship criteria:  Roswell Beer Festival, GA Rides to the Capitol, 8th Grade Walking Tours, Race to Change Destinies, March for Babies, The Mayor's Ride, The Drake Walk, All Kids Count 5k, Hospitality Highway Century Ride, Chattahoochee Challenge, Earth Day Kids Fest, Flying Colors Butterfly Festival and the Possum Trot.  The total cost of the 13 events is $25,299.38.  
 
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On October 30, 2013 the Community Development and Transportation Committee recommended approving thirteen (13) of the sixteen (16) requested sponsorships and placing this Item on the November 13, 2013 Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
The FY 2014 Approved Budget includes $60,000 for City Sponsorship of Special Events in Org 10061701, object 539999.  With $16,875.52 in sponsorships granted in the first half of FY 2014 and $10,000 earmarked for CNC special events, the special events budget has $33,124.48 remaining.  Should all of the events herein be approved, the special events budget would have $13,654.08 remaining.
