Approval to submit a Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) funding application to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) for Road Resurfacing.

Item Summary:

The LMIG program was created to combine the LARP and the State-Aid programs. For FY 2011, the City is eligible to receive approximately $488,000 in LMIG funding. This application must be received by GDOT by April 31, 2011 in order for the City to use the funds.

 

The City will submit the same prioritized list of roads used to determine resurfacing to GDOT and will use the LMIG funding to pave as many of these roads as possible.

On March 2, 2011 the Community Development and Transportation Committee recommended placing this Item on the March 14, 2011 Mayor and Council Agenda.
