Item Summary:
The Spring Drive Waterline Replacement Project includes the southern half of Spring Drive (south of Hillcrest Drive). The northern half of construction is planned for FY2015.
Designers have recommended that the project be split differently, to include Hillcrest Drive construction in Phase 1. Accordingly, the construction cost estimates from the City On-Call Construction Contractors are above the $350,000 budgeted amount. The additional $70,000 will cover the new project estimate of approximately $405,000 for the engineering oversight required and will allow for a contingency.

On August 13, 2013 the Public Safety and Public Works Committee recommended placing this Item on the August 26, 2013 Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
Funding in the amount of $350,000 is approved in the FY 2014 Budget for the Spring Drive Waterline Replacement Project. Currently $148,000 is budgeted for a waterline project on Atlanta Street and this project will not be completed this year; therefore, the funds are available to redistribute to the Spring Drive Waterline replacement project. Upon approval of Budget Amendment 50544400-08-26-13, funds in the amount of $70,000 will be transferred from the Atlanta Street 12-Inch Ductile Iron Water Main Project, Org 50544400, Object 541420, Project 80038. The new FY2014 project budget for the Spring Drive Waterline Replacement project will be $420,000 in Org 50544400, Object 541420, Project 80037.
