Description:
The Atlanta Regional Commission programmed $25 million of MARTA capital funds in return for funding MARTA Operations in 2009. The City of Roswell is eligible to program $1,674,500 in capital improvements that enhance or augment the existing MARTA bus service in the City of Roswell.  Staff has drafted four Intergovernmental Agreements totaling $1,674,500 in capital improvements.

This is the fourth of four IGAs with MARTA  The project consists of the following three types of pedestrian improvements:
1 - New sidewalks to close gaps in sidewalks within ¾ mile of MARTA bus routes.
2 - New countdown pedestrian signals at 19 intersections
3 - New crosswalks at 3 intersections

Attachment:  Intergovernmental Project Agreement between City of Roswell, GA and MARTA

The IGA project budget is $574,500.00.  There is no city match. The IGA must be signed by the Mayor and MARTA.

Comments:
This current project cost funds approximately 40% of our sidewalk gap needs that meet the requirements of the MARTA Offset Funds.  Staff expects to reallocate any residual funds from Projects number 1, 2 and 3 to the sidewalk gap closure project.
