Item Summary:
Request for Qualifications #12-286-B was issued and six (6) statements of qualification (SOQ's) were received.  A two-tiered qualifications-based selection (QBS) process was used to determine the most qualified consultant team to perform this design work.  Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. was the most qualified and responsible proposer.
 
The scope of work includes the preliminary and final design of the water plant, full construction drawings, and construction services; and the team will hear from citizens and consider alternatives. Jacobs has agreed to an expanded role for their community involvement specialists to assure adequate flow of information specific to the project, including landscape architecture services to maintain the atmosphere of adjoining park and recreational lands.

On December 11, 2012, the Public Safety and Public Works Committee recommended placing this Item on the December 17, 2012 Mayor and Council Agenda.
 
Financial Impact:
Upon approval of Budget Amendment 50544300-12-17-12, funds in the amount of $1,604,002 will be available in Org 50544300, object 541300, project 80010.  The estimated available Water Fund, fund balance after this appropriation is $2,446,872.
