Approval to award retirees with gift of service weapon

Item Summary:
Traditionally when an officer retires most law enforcement agencies give them their service weapon. There has been one retirement this year with two additional anticipated. Chief Dwayne Orrick requestes Mayor and City Council approval prior to releasing the weapons.

Council member Wynn recommended, and was seconded by Council member Dippolito to place this item on the 3/26/2012 Mayor and City Council Agenda. Committee approved this recommendation.
