Item Summary:
Bid #12-222-B was issued and seven (7) bids were received ranging from $1,827,610 to $3,060,842. Northwest Georgia Paving, Inc. was the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $1,827.610.
The total quantities in the bid package will provide roughly 14 center line miles of resurfacing for two-lane roads. This scope includes items found in the City's standard paving contracts, such as patching, milling, striping, manhole adjustments, leveling, and traffic control. Based on final field conditions, the contractor will stop at a point where the total contract is met.
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On May 30, 2012 the Community Development and Transportation Committee recommended placing this Item on the next available Mayor and Council Agenda after the contract bids were received.
Financial Impact:
Funds in the amount of $2,997,471.60 are currently approved and available in the Road Resurfacing account, ORG 35042200, OBJ 522205, Project 90001.
