Item Summary:
This grant will be used  to purchase an Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR), which will enhance officer efficiency, improve officer safety and provide information for better intelligence gathering.   
 
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On June 11, 2013 the Public Safety and Public Works Committee recommended placing this item on the June 24, 2013 Mayor and Council Agenda.
 
Financial Impact:
Project budget for equipment is $20,000 with $10,604 coming from the JAG Grant and $9,396 from Grant Match Contingency funds. Grant match funding in the amount of $9,396 is available in Org 10015850, Account 579020, Project 14003.  Allocation of the $9,396 will leave $183,032 in Approved Grant Match funding for future grant opportunities.
