Item Summary:
The Transportation Department is seeking National Accreditation through the American Public Works Association (APWA).  This includes 24 nationally recognized practice areas, such as Project Management, Street Maintenance, Traffic Operations, Utility Coordination, etc.  Staff has evaluated the level of compliance with 318 Best Management Practices and is now ready to apply for Accreditation by submitting the Self-Assessment.  
 
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On November 25, 2013 the Community Development and Transportation Committee recommended placing this Item on the December 9, 2013 Mayor and Council Agenda.
 
Financial Impact:
Funds in the amount of $15,000 are currently encumbered in the Dues and Fees Account, ORG 10042101, OBJ 523600 for the application fee.
