Item Summary:
The preliminary design plans for the Oxbo Road realignment are complete. During this phase the consultant hired a structural engineer to analyze the impact on the hardware store. Based on the analysis, Clark Patterson has determined that retaining walls will be required on both the north and south side of the road to minimize property impacts. The estimated cost for the retaining walls is approximately $300,000 and will be added to the overall project. However, the detailed structural design required is outside the scope of the original design contract.
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On March 27, 2013 the Community Development and Transportation Committee recommended placing this Item on the April 8, 2013 Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
The budget amendment will move $28,300 from completed project, HBR/Alpharetta Highway Intersection project, ORG 35042200, OBJ 541415, Project 91004 to the Oxbo Realignment project account, ORG 35042200, OBJ 541415, Project 90005, to cover the change order.
