Item Summary:
Invitation to Bid #12-282-B was issued and only one (1) bid was received in the amount of $100,330 from Pavement Technology, Inc.
To augment the City's resurfacing program, staff is recommending preserving recently resurfaced streets by applying sealing and waterproofing applications onto the road surface. Several test samples were made last year, including a section of Riverside Road. The intent is to extend the time the pavement stays in good condition, thus improving the City's overall condition rating. So far the results are promising.
Below are the recommended streets for sealing and waterproofing:
· Coleman Road, from Magnolia Street to Hwy 120
· Crabapple Road, from Hwy 92 to Etris Road
· Jones Road, from Bowen Road to County line
· Bowen Road, from Jones Road to Hwy 92
· Warsaw Road, from Roundabout to Old Roswell Road
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On May 30, 2012 the Community Development and Transportation Committee recommended placing this Item on the next appropriate Mayor and Council Agenda after the bids were received.
Financial Impact:
Funds in the amount of $3,104,715 are approved and available in the Resurfacing Account, 35042200, 522205, 90001.
