Item Summary:
Staff launched a comprehensive review of the Manual and substantive changes were drafted. Some of those changes include:
· Clarification of conflicting policy statements regarding the City of Roswell's system of personnel administration (At-will versus Merit System);
· Modification of personnel hearings and disciplinary appeals process;
· Updating policies to comply with changes in law and administrative regulations (FMLA, Unlawful Harassment Prevention, etc.); and
· Program/Practice modifications such as the implementation of a Civic Engagement/Volunteerism Policy, Sick Leave Conversion/Buy Back program, implementation of a Workplace Civility Policy, etc.
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
At the May 12, 2014 Mayor and Council Work Session it was recommended placing this Item on the June 9, 2014 Mayor and Council Agenda.
