Item Summary:
In March 2014, the City accepted HOME funding in the amount of $93,871 as part of its participation in the Georgia Urban County Consortium (GUCC) led by Cobb County.
 
2014 HOME funds will be allocated as follows:
 
·      Housing Authority of the City of Roswell (RHA) in the amount of $50,000 for the development of the Veranda at Groveway Project;
·      North Georgia Community Housing Development Corporation (Habitat for Humanity North Central Georgia) in the amount of $29,789 for the acquisition and/or rehabilitation of a Habitat for Humanity home at 840 Zion Circle;
·      HomeStretch Housing Initiative of North Fulton in the amount of $4,694 for operating expenses related to auditing costs
·      $4,694 to the City of Roswell for administration costs;
·      $4,694 to Cobb County for administration costs as the lead agency of the GUCC.
 
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On October 14, 2014 the Administration Finance Committee recommended placing this Item on the October 27, 2014 Mayor and Council Agenda.
 
Financial Impact:
A Budget Amendment establishing the budget for this grant and authorizing a match, if necessary, was approved by Mayor and Council on March 24, 2014.  Grant funding is available in Org 22115000 and Project 18004.
 
The City is required to provide local matching funds of no less than 25% of project costs.  The match is anticipated to be provided through in-kind volunteer hours.  If necessary, funding for the City match would be available in the Grant Match Fund Contingency.
