Trouw Nutrition USA, a supplier of specialty ingredients and nutrients to the U.S. pet food industry teamed up with Kevlar for K9s, a non-profit organization to donate this bullet proof vest to the RPD K-9 officer, Bruno. Bruno is a dual purpose K9 so he is trained for patrol functions and narcotics detection.

On December 11, 2012 the Public Safety and Public Works Committee approved accepting the donation.
Financial Impact:
The value of the donated vest is $840.
