Body
Item Summary:
Rochester and Associates, Inc. received approval from the City of Roswell Planning Commission in February for a subdivision Plat with 40 units titled Goulding Village. The plat takes into consideration the existing narrow (20 foot wide) right of way on Goulding Place. In addition, the proposed road alignment includes several horizontal and vertical curves required to traverse the site. These features will act as natural traffic calming elements.
The design connects to and extends the existing 50 foot right of way for Windy Pines Trail providing a second access to the development. Due to the steep topography, Rochester has requested that the City allow the public right of way to be narrowed to 42 feet instead of 50 feet while maintaining the City standards in all other respects including; 24 foot/back of curb paved road width, five-foot wide sidewalks on both side as well as two-foot grass strips on each side.
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On March 26, 2014 the Community Development and Transportation Committee recommended placing this Item on the April 14, 2014 Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
None at this time.
