Roswell was presented with the Certified Silver award on December 2, 2009 for its efforts in ARC's Green Communities Program.  This is a voluntary certification program to recognize and promote local governments that are leading the way to sustainability by reducing their environmental footprint.  The City of Roswell is one of the first cities to be certified "Green" under the ARC's Program.  Points were received for the following categories:
