Item Summary:
The Rebate Program will partially fund the installation of four alternating current (AC) Level II electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The City intends to install two dual EV charging stations at City Hall; one dual station at the Roswell Area Park - Physical Activity Center; and one dual station at the East Roswell Park.
 
The City was awarded $16,019.88 in 2014 Charge Georgia rebates, as follows:
·      City Hall: $8,266
·      Roswell Area Park: $3,876.94
·      East Roswell Park: $3,876.94
 
GEFA through the Charge Georgia rebate program will reimburse the City for costs associated with the EV project, including:  planning, design, permitting, equipment, delivery, installation, inspection and signage. The charging stations will be accessible to the public for a user fee.
 
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On September 24, 2014 the Community Development and Transportation Committee recommended placing this Item on the October 27, 2014 Mayor and Council Agenda.
 
Financial Impact:
The total anticipated cost for the charging stations is $32,039.76.  The City will receive a fifty percent rebate from GEFA, bringing the total City share to $16,019.88.  Funding is available in the Citywide Vehicle Replacement Capital Project, Org 35015850, Object 542200, and Project 14001.
