Item Summary:
Request for Qualifications (RFQ) #12-138B was issued for Standby Engineering Design Services and 39 proposals were received.  The purpose of this procurement is to pre-select qualified firms with experience in engineering and design services to provide professional engineering services for various Transportation Projects. Six (6) design teams were short-listed and using criteria of Technical Experience, Project Team, Project Management, and Project Understanding and Approach, staff recommends awarding contracts to four (4) companies.  Three (3) companies for design and construction services and one (1) company for survey database services.  These companies are McGee Partners, Clark Patterson Lee, Pond & Company, and TerraMark Land Surveying (survey database services only). The term of each contract is one year with two optional one-year renewals.  
 
These services for design and construction include but are not limited to transportation planning, intersection improvements, sidewalk improvements, roadway improvements, streetscapes, localized drainage projects, bridge replacements and improvements, traffic engineering, and other related projects meeting the described requirements.
 
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On June 27, 2012 the Community Development and Transportation Committee recommended placing this Item on the July 9, 2012 Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
Each General Services work order will be funded by a specific currently approved and budgeted Capital Project with an available balance. Any contract $25,000 or over will be brought to Council for approval.
