The Paul Broun Award recognizes an initiative that demonstrates an effective and unique marketing program. This joint marketing program with Dawsonville and Dahlonega focuses on the Group Tour market which gives them many options and encourages them to stay longer in each area and spend more.
The Tom Kilgore Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an individual who exemplifies outstanding lifetime commitment towards tourism. The award is named after Tom Kilgore, former legislator who was an early advocate and champion of tourism and one of the architects of the Hotel/Motel Tax legislation.
These awards were presented on September 5, 2014 by Governor Nathan Deal at the 2014 Georgia Governor's Tourism Conference.
