Title

Approval of a revised Fire Department Patch.

Presented by Ricky Spencer, Fire Chief

Body

Item Summary:

Over the last 50+ years the patch for the Roswell Fire Department has changed very little.  Prior to 1993, under the Roswell Fire & Rescue Department, the patch had a picture of Barrington Hall.  From 1993 to 2006 the Roswell Fire & Rescue Department patch changed to a picture of City Hall.  In 2006 up to the present, the picture stayed the same, however, the name changed to the Roswell Fire Department.  The proposed new patch represents the history of the Fire Department (world wide) as well as patriotic recognition of the United States Flag, the current City of Roswell logo, and the color Green to symbolize the Green Initiatives in Roswell.

Committee or Staff Recommendation:

On August 10, 2010 the Public Safety & Public Works Committee recommended placing this item on the August 23, 2010 Mayor and Council Agenda.

Financial Impact:

The Fire Department has funds approved and available to cover the estimated expenditure.
