Item Summary:
Dynamic Security will provide the following security services:
·      City Hall will have two entrances open to the public with one security guard at each entrance.  The two entrances are the south entrance on the ground level of City Hall and the main grand staircase entrance.
·      The security guard at each public entrance shall visually inspect each person who enters the door.  The guard will ask each person to empty their pockets.  The guard shall use a wand to inspect purses, brief cases, bags, etc.  All coats will be visually inspected and may be required to be removed.  
 
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On September 9, 2014 the Administration, Finance, Recreation and Parks Committee recommended placing this Item on the September 22, 2014 Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
The FY 2015 Approved Budget included funding in the amount of $70,675 for an additional Municipal Complex Officer position.  Funding for this position included the use of Operating Contingency funding in the amount of $43,613.
 
Upon approval of Budget Amendment 10015651-09-22-14, the FY 2015 Approved Budget will be reduced by $7,729, based upon the contract with Dynamic Security, and funding will be transferred back to the General Fund Operating Contingency.  Additionally, the FY 2015 Approved Position Control will be amended to eliminate one Municipal Complex Officer position.
