Body
Item Summary:
This project consists of an 8 to10-foot wide multi-use trail along the south side of Holcomb Bridge Road from Steeplechase Road to South Holcomb Bridge Way/Nesbit Ferry Road.
The original design contract for $59,421.16 consisted of five-foot sidewalks along both sides of Holcomb Bridge Road. A change order was approved to modify the project to install a multi-use trail along the south side of Holcomb Bridge Road, bringing the new contract amount to $166,736.78. The amended contract amount will be $193,356.78.
Over the last 18 months, several design change orders varying from $2,000 - $6,000 each were issued to minimize impact on private property, to realign the trail to reduce the construction cost, and to increase the width of the trail from 8 to 10 feet where feasible. The estimated construction cost (including ROW and utilities) has therefore been reduced from $1.5 M to $1M, an estimated projected savings of $500,000.
