Item Summary:
The State of Georgia has a requirement for transportation projects that exceed $50 Million in total cost to undergo a Value Engineering (VE) Study. VE Studies are a four-day long process where a third-party engineering team assesses the project and identifies ways to modify the design to decrease the total project cost and/or increase project value while not compromising any of the engineering elements.
AMEC is one of the short-listed consultants selected by the Georgia DOT under their qualifications-based selection process. This effort was anticipated and was incorporated into the original project budget.

On February 26, 2014 the Community Development and Transportation Committee recommended placing this Item on the March 10, 2014 Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
Funds in the amount of $47,000 are available in the Big Creek Parkway Project account, ORG 35042102, OBJ 541415, Project 93001
