Body
Item Summary:
Stormwater Management staff is overseeing restoration of the detention pond in the River Run subdivision. The dam and outlet structure had partially failed and the pond area was substantially overgrown with vegetation, so the pond area was cleared and rebuilt as a functioning element of the City's storm drainage facilities. A fence is being installed because of the steep terrain. The project includes replacement of trees removed from within the access easement, but there is not a plan to add any screening vegetation outside the project area. This leaves one property without a visual buffer to the project area.
Purchase and installation of Leyland Cypress to provide screening outside the fenced area is estimated at $4,000. If the property owner provides an easement to this area and Mayor and Council approve this change order, the trees will be added to the construction plan.
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On April 9, 2013 the Public Safety and Public Works Committee recommended placing this Item on the April 22, 2013 Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
$4,000 will be allocated from the Tree Bank Fund, fund balance to cover the installation of trees. Upon approval, the Tree Bank Fund will have $488,150 in available Fund Balance. The new total project budget will be $164,000 in Org 50743200, Object 541200, Project 82013.
