Item Summary:
The change order to the Water Plant Design Services contract will provide for Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. to be available on an as-needed basis to respond to requests for information and questions from contractors during the bid phase, assist in preparation of addenda as necessary, and assist the City with contract negotiations with the low bidder.  The services of Jacobs will be approved by the City and billed on an hourly basis based on rates established in the design contract.

On October 15, 2013 the Public Safety and Public Works Committee recommended placing this Item on the October 28, 2013 Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
A contingency budget amount of $123,400 was approved along with the design contract ($1,234,000) for a total project budget of $1,357,400 in Org 50544300, Object 541300, Project 80010.   A balance of $112,007 remains in the previously-approved contingency budget for this project. Upon approval of this change order, there will be $67,507 remaining and unappropriated in the contingency budget for the design contract.
