Item Summary:
Each year GDOT sends out notices requesting that local municipalities submit a list of roads for resurfacing under the state aid program called Local Assistance Resurfacing Program (LARP). The deadline for submitting the electronic application for the LARP is August 1, 2009.
 
Staff recommends the following collector road candidates for this year's application based on the road pavement rating list. These roads are the top three (3), or lowest rated collector roads:
 
Nesbit Ferry Road, ADT = 18,231; 2009 rating = 27; functional classification = collector
 
Mountain Park Road, ADT = 5,521; 2009 rating = 38; functional classification = collector
 
Warsaw Road, ADT = 10,326; rating = 42; functional classification = collector
 
GDOT will notify the City in spring 2010 of the roads to be resurfaced.

Staff Recommends Approval.
 
Financial Impact:
The City anticipates receiving state funding to complete between two to two and one half miles of resurfacing. Additionally, City funding in the amount of $1,879,829.81 for the annual resurfacing program is available in the Citywide Resurfacing and Reconstruction Account, Cost Center 4210CP, Account # 522205, Project # 05TRA006.
