Item Summary:
This contract is to complete database preparation: a topographical survey, an environmental screening and a geotech survey of the proposed road realignment of Oxbo Road, Elm Street, and Pleasant Hill Street at South Atlanta Street. These activities are standard pre-engineering elements, which will facilitate the complete design of the intersection by in-house staff.
Proposals were requested from three of our existing Professional Services Consultants for these services. Mulkey Engineers and Consultants submitted the lowest aggregate fee proposal for the three elements in a total amount of $42,430:
Topo survey - $26,330
Environmental screening - $7,183
Geotech survey - $8,917

On January 28, 2009 the Community Development & Transportation Committee recommended placing this item on a future Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
There are FY 2009 Capital Project Funds available to be reprogrammed for this contract. Upon approval of Budget Amendment BA 4210CP-05-04-09, funds in the amount of $43,000 will be available in a new capital account, Oxbo Road Intersection Improvement Project, Cost Center 4210CP, Account #541415, Project 09TRA020.
