Item Summary:
This grant provides for the purchase of an Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR).  The ALPR will enhance officer efficiency, improve officer safety and provide information for better intelligence gathering.

On September 10, 2013 the Public Safety and Public Works Committee recommended placing this Item on the September 23, 2013 Mayor and Council Agenda.
 
Financial Impact:
The total project budget for equipment is $20,000 with $10,604 coming from the JAG Grant and $9,396 from Grant Match Contingency funds. Grant match funding in the amount of $9,396 is available in Org 10015850, Account 579020, and Project 14003.  Allocation of the $9,396 will leave $229,576 in Approved Grant Match funding for future grant opportunities.
