Item Summary:
This intersection improvement project will construct a multi-lane roundabout at the intersection of SR140/Houze Road and Hembree Road.  The primary benefits of the project are congestion relief and improved safety.  The project also consists of a multi-use trail along Hembree Road (a portion of the Purple Loop) that connects to a trail East of Upper Hembree Road that the City constructed last year.
 
The $440,000 is the appraised value plus a contingency.  The Project Framework Agreement (PFA) for this project, provides that GDOT pays 100% of the design, 100% of the right of way acquisition up to $290,000, and 100% of the construction cost up to $1,000,000.  Any amounts above the amounts in the PFA must be covered by the City.  
 
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On April 15, 2014 the Administration, Finance, Recreation and Parks Committee recommended placing this Item on the April 28, 2014 Mayor and Council Agenda.
 
Financial Impact:
Upon approval of the Budget Amendment, a total of $442,080 will be available for the Houze Road at Hembree Road Intersection Improvement Project; $290,000 in grant funding in ORG 22142200, OBJ 541100, Project 91007 and $152,080 in Impact Fee funding in ORG 23042101, OBJ 541100, Project 91007.
