Item Summary:
The Roswell Historical Society is the champion organization for this project that will place eight (8) boulder monuments along the river walk at Riverside Park to honor and educate the community about the history of the Cherokee Indians in Roswell and the Cherokee Nation.  Once installed, the monuments will become the property of the City of Roswell.     
 
Committee or Staff Recommendation:
On Feburary 27, 2014 the Recreation Commission approved this item.
 
On February 26, 2014, the Administration, Finance, Recreation and Parks Committee recommended placing this item on the March 10, 2014 Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
Approval is requested so fundraising efforts can begin. The Roswell Historical Society will manage the fundraising efforts, funds, website, and overall project.
