Item Summary:
Invitation to Bid #09-275M was issued for the acquisition of a residential rear loader. Eleven bids were received ranging in price from $133,204 to $157,401. Municipal Equipment Sales, Inc. was the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $136,265.
This purchase will replace Residential Unit #4097-002, a 1997 LNT-8000 Rear Loader, which meets the criteria established for the City's Vehicle Replacement guidelines.

On November 9, 2009 the Public Safety & Public Works Committee recommended placing this item on the November 16, 2009 Mayor and Council Agenda.
Financial Impact:
Funding to purchase the new vehicle was approved in the FY 10 Budget in the amount of $178,575.00 and is available in the Sanitation Fund (540), Cost Center 451C, Account 542200 and project 06ENV003.
